Vladislav Knežević, artist and filmmaker, is holding an intermedia performance at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb. The performance is a reinterpretation of Stéphane Mallarmé’s cult poem “A Throw of the Dice will Never Abolish Chance”, his final major work, which he wrote in 1897.
The artist has engaged the text of this poem through his own cinematic lens, drawing on various associations that elude description. His performance is accompanied by the unique sonic landscapes of Alen and Nenad Sinkauz, with the first-time cooperation of French vocalist, Isabelle Duthoit.
