Armando Lulaj pushes limits at Galleria de’ Foscherari

Galleria de’ Foscherari, a contemporary art gallery from Bologna, has announced the opening of the exhibition Pushing the Limits, a collaboration between the institution and the DebatikCenter of Contemporary Art. Scheduled to open on Oct. 17th, this collaborative project represents an important encounter between the two entities. A selection of historic works by the DebatikCenter spanning a period of two decades has been curated by Fabiola Naldi for the occasion.

The project was conceived by Armando Lulaj, who established DebatikCenter together with his colleagues in Bologna in 2003 as a means of cultural and political resistance against the global neoliberal narrative. Large installations and archival materials by Lulaj are displayed alongside the works of Pleurad Xhafa and the collectives Underground Movement, La Société Spectrale, and Manifesto Collective.

Conceptually framed as an archive of decline, the artists take an analytical approach to geopolitical and cultural issues that have been unfolding in the Middle East, the United States and Italy filtered through the historical and political lens of Albania. A selection of Lulaj’s video works are available for renting through our distribution catalogue. For more information, please address your inquiries to → [email protected]
