Igor Simić is holding a lecture at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, the iconic Berlin theater. The premise (and title!) of his lecture, Everything is Content, takes a provocative look at the impact that the ubiquity of platformized content has on our daily lives. Although this endless inundation of images, sounds, films and other media appears at first glance incoherent and ready to overwhelm the viewer, Simić does not succumb to nostalgia for a simpler past, opting instead to mould it into a film where they can all coexist at peace with each other.
Simić’s lecture opens on April 2 at 8:00 p.m. in the Roter Salon at the Volksbühne. Igor Simić’s short films, which are distinguished by their highly polished and incisive style, are available for distribution through the Kinopravda Institute catalogue.
