We are proud to announce that “Constructivism in Film”, Professor Petrić’s in-depth analysis of Dziga Vertov’s revolutionary cinematic masterpiece The Man with the Movie Camera will soon be available in the Serbian language! First published in English in 1987 through Cambridge University Press, Petrić gives an overview of the radical experiments that early Soviet filmmakers engaged in and the sociopolitical background of the Constructivist movement before delving into a step-by-step analysis of Vertov’s film.
With the publishing of this book, Kinopravda Institute pays due homage to the legacy of Professor Petrić, whose tireless work in the field of film studies has helped to establish the moving image as a venerable art form.
