Nika Autor contemplates the permanence of solidarity at M HKA

Published: Oct. 24th 2025

The M HKA (Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp) is currently holding a group exhibition titled There Is Nothing Solid About Solidarity, lasting from Sept. 26th to Nov. 23rd 2025. In a world increasingly beset by wars, immigration crises, and the proliferation of threats to democracy, M HKA has assembled works by a group of artists which portray how people are finding support, resisting current negative trends and building new networks. By establishing a connection between diverse contexts and historical backgrounds, solidarity is revealed as a reality that is not fixed, but constantly being reinvented.

Among the group of artists participating in the exhibition at M HKA is Nika Autor, a Slovenian visual artist and filmmaker whose artistic practice reflects the current social reality and lends visibility and voice to the invisible/inaudible. By examining asylum and migration policies, workers’ rights and the politics of memory, Nika casts a light on the injustices affecting the contemporary world through the lens of art.

Nika Autor recently joined Kinopravda Institute’s distribution program. You can view a selection of her works which are available for renting in our distribution catalogue. For more information on rentals, please inquire at the following address → [email protected]
